Kojima has duped the game industry yet again. Just like he did with the announcement of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain a few years back Kojima has announced a new project under the guise of another game. Earlier this week, during Sony's press conference at GamesCom, an unknown company named 7780s STUDIO announced their horror game P.T. They also announced that anyone could download a free demo of the game on PS4 that night. Interested players flocked to the (legitimately terrifying!) horror game, and it didn't take them very long to reach the end and discover that P.T. wasn't a real game, but rather a playable announcement for a new Silent Hill (titled Silent Hills) being developed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro. Obviously this had created a lot of buzz around the game, prompting even more players to check out P.T.
I played the game last night and cannot stop thinking about it. While horror games have never been my thing I loved the minimalist style and subtle, disturbing atmosphere. If the whole game ends up being like P.T. then I will definitely be checking out Silent Hills when it releases.
