One of the bigger news to come out of Gamescom is that Rise of the Tomb Raider, sequel to the great Tomb Raider reboot, will be an Xbox exclusive. The news, as you would expect, was met with a lot of Internet outrage from gamers who don't own an Xbox One or Xbox 360 system.
Darrell Gallagher, head of Crystal Dynamics, took to explaining the studio's decision to go that route. He cites Microsoft's support and belief in the game from its beginnings.
There's still some who think the wording makes it sound like that it will be a timed exclusive for 2015, me being one who thinks so as well. It's hard for me to see Crystal Dynamics limiting the game to one platform, but who knows.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available on the Xbox One and Xbox 360, Holiday 2015.
-Update- As I suspected, it will be a timed exclusive. Phil Spencer has confirmed to Eurogamer that is will be for a duration of time, although he declined to comment for how long.
