Sir Michael Rocks, half of the rap duo, Cool Kids, waxes lyrical about a touchstone video game moment. In his single "F*** SeaWorld," aside from tacking on a weird diatribe against the famed marine mammal park, reaches back for a moment into his childhood and reminisces about Final Fantasy VII. He even goes into 17-year-old-game spoiler territory and says he got a bit emotional when Aerith died. Around the 1:30 mark, he says:
My n**** I'm playing Final Fantasy and drinking a Tuscon
When Aerith died, n**** I admit it, I cried a bit
Take a real n***** to acknowledge it, you probably did too
He even rocks a Final Fantasy t-shirt in the video shoot.
Sir Michael Rocks, unabashed Final Fantasy fan, releases his debut solo studio album, Banco, on July 29.
