With Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 and Kingdom Hearts 3 both currently in development fans of Square's action RPG series have a lot to look forward to over the next few years. If any of those fans were worried that HD 2.5 might slow down development on Kingdom Hearts 3, co-director Tai Yasue is here to calm your fears. In an interview with Game Informer Yasue said that the team has been "working full-throttle" and they are structured in a way that doesn't impede progress on Kingdom Hearts 3. Square did not show any new footage for Kingdom Hearts 3 at this year's E3, and Yasue says that is because those teasers take time to make, time that would be better spent in development. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will release later this year.
I haven't really loved a Kingdom Hearts game since Kingdom Hearts 2, so maybe the HD Remix will be a good way to get me excited about the series again in preparation for Kingdom Hearts 3. Though with both HD versions of the older games releasing so close to each other I feel like a 1+2 HD pack may be on its way sometime in 2015. Maybe I should hold out a little longer.
