XSeed seems to have a thing for people losing their clothes lately. The latest game from Way of the Samurai developer Acquire Corp., Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed is all about exposing vampires to the mid-day sun, all while set in the backdrop of one of Tokyo's most famous wards, Akihabara, the otaku paradise. After being transformed into one of the Synthisters that have been invading the town, you'll be partnering up with the group that spared you from the debilitating aversion to sunlight, the Akiba Freedom Fighters, who go around stripping people of their clothes, in an effort to defeat the vampiric blight.
Running around the faithfully recreated town of Akihabara means that a lot of detail went in to making sure that landmarks and stores could be recognized. I kind of geeked out for a moment when I saw an Adores arcade I hung out at previously, along with the delicious Kingdom of Steak restaurant I visited during my last trip. But getting back on track, you'll be using a smartphone and taking pictures of the people that are roaming around Akihabara, when you find vampires, it's time to strip. By fighting them, you'll remove their clothing until you get them down to their skivvies at which point they'll melt in the sun. You can also pick up the clothing from your fallen adversaries, and use that to make the ultimate vampire fighting outfit. The weapons also range from baseball bats, to fans, to motherboards, whatever it takes to get those clothes off.
Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed will be coming to the PS3 and the Vita later this summer, packed with a dual audio voice track, multiple endings, and a lot of that humor that Acquire loves to pack in to their games.
