Here's an onstage E3 interview with Mark Thompson, lead design director at Ubisoft Montreal. Thompson talks about Far Cry 4 (and how it's not Far Cry 3.5), which means tackling an entirely new location, plus the challenge of topping Vaas as the series' pinnacle bad guy. Thompson also reaffirms the importance of player agency--maintaining the open world when you're in a mission, and providing direction when you're in the open world.
Snippets of in-game footage played from the E3 floor start around 2:35. The official in-game trailer starts at 8:10.
Also: co-op. Climb the Himalayas. Watch eagles versus goats. Explode a few militants. Invite a friend.
Far Cry 4 will be on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 18.
