Update: 12:05 PM EST - The official press release for the game has been released and sheds some more light on the game mechanics and storyline.

Original - The wait is finally over. After a month or so of trolling on Twitter from Ed Boon about an announcement of some sorts today, we finally got our answer. Mortal Kombat X has just been announced for a 2015 release and a debut trailer was released as well.
In the trailer, Scorpion and Sub-Zero continue their 25 year rivalry in the new trailer set to "Can't Be Stopped" by Wiz Khalifa. Once again, as in most of the Mortal Kombat promos and trailers over the years, Sub-Zero almost always gets destroyed by Scorpion. I am assuming it's a running joke at this point.
Mortal Kombat is the reason I am the gamer I am today. It is my number 1 favorite videogame series of all time and announcements like this remind me while I love this industry. The wait for MK9 was hard, so I can only hope the wait for MKX won't be as bad.
