It was recently announced that 1001 Spikes, an upcoming 2D tough as nails platformer (though shouldn't that be tough as spikes?) would launch on the PS4, PS Vita, and Steam on June 3rd. Well for 3DS and Wii U owners you won't have to miss out on the fun as 1001 Spikes will also launch on those platforms on June 3rd. Why wasn't this announced at the same time as the PlayStation platforms? One reason is because at the time they were working on finalizing a deal for 3DS owners who already own any of Nicalis's titles. If you happen to own VVVVVV, NightSky, Cave Story, Ikachan, or Grinsia on the 3DS, 1001 Spikes will only cost you $9.99 instead of the normal price of $14.99.
The other reason is that they found out that there are a couple of issues discovered in the game that left them with two options: release the game as is or push the release back a bit for the Nintendo consoles. Nintendo assured them that an update could be issues within a couple days of launch to fix those issues, so as a result the Wii U and 3DS versions will launch alongside the PlayStation platform versions.
