A while back Nintendo announced that they would be holding a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament during E3. The Super Smash Bros. Invitational will be held on June 10th and will gather 16 Smashers from all over to compete in the first ever Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament. The player roster includes professional Smashers like LiquidDJ (formerly known as KoreanDJ) and Dr.PP. It will be single elimination, with the final match being a 1 on 1 on Final Destination. To get all the details, including the full player roster, full set of rules, and the announcer list, check out the full video below.
Seeing the full player roster has given me confidence that Nintendo actually knows what they are doing with this tournament. They could have just grabbed 16 funny gaming personalities and been done with it but it seems they actually did their research and got some of the best players in the world. They even got well known tournament announcers. Needless to say I can't wait for the 10th of June, it should be very interesting.
