The PlayStation Plus program is changing, and in a good way in my opinion. Beginning in June, the format of the Instant Game Collection’s release dates will be changing. Instead of games being available for varied amount of time, all games in the program will have a 30 day availability that will run on a predictable calendar.
The first Tuesday of each month will see 6 games added to the collection, 2 for PS3, 2 for PS4, and 2 for Vita. Those six games will all be available on that day and remain accessible until the next month’s update. This seems like a lot cleaner and more organized format to me. That is an incredible deal to anyone who owns a system in the PlayStation family, and even moreso if you own them all.
The June lineup of games has also been announced and I think that this is one of the strongest months that the program has seen yet. On the PlayStation 3 side of things, members will be getting the incredible NBA 2K14 and the insanely fun Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. As a special little bonus, since SLy is a cross buy title, they will also be able to download the Vita version too (apart from the Vita’s two games). PlayStation 4 owners are getting Trine 2: Complete Story and Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate. Finally, Vita owners are getting two new digital releases in Terraria and Mutant Mudds Deluxe.
Why haven’t you signed up for the program yet?
