YouTube is about to hand over $1 billion for Twitch.tv. Sam and Dan Houser—those Rockstar Games guys—just made The Times' list of 1,000 richest people in Britain (the Housers have a combined worth of over $151 million). And GOG.com says it's definitely considering Steam-style early access for games launched in its store.
What are you playing this Memorial Day weekend?

This weekend will likely see me playing a lot of Full Bore for my upcoming review. Would have a lot more of it done except I've been investing a lot of time into Vertical Drop Heroes for my review of that. As for personal gaming, the Skyrim bug went away...only to be replaced by the Borderlands 2 bug. I've been working on my main Siren (level 51) and going through the DLC: I just finished up Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage and am now working through Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. Lord give me strength.

I'm taking a break from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and will be spending time with Sam Fisher and Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It's highly likely that I'll want to fire it into the sun before the weekend is over and I'll be back to AC IV. I have lately begun referring to the Jackdaw as "her" and "my baby," so I think maybe I owe Randy an apology. [Apology accepted. - Randy]

I'm continuing my catch-up on PS3-exclusive shooters after spending the majority of last-gen as a Wii60 guy. After discovering that Resistance: Fall of Man has aged pretty terribly, I'm currently being underwhelmed by the original Killzone in the Killzone HD Trilogy collection. Here's hoping that both Resistance and Killzone 2 and 3 are more interesting.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is good old-fashioned Wolfenstein fun. Modern gamers are going to hate it because of the mechanics, such as having to press a button to pick up ammunition and health items. For me, it has been a great trip down memory lane and somewhat of a mindless experience which equals complete fun.

This weekend I'll be playing War of the Vikings for my upcoming review as well as waiting anxiously for the release of Watch Dogs on Tuesday. I also hope to spend some time playing Battlefield 4 and trying out the various premium content packs.

My plans for the weekend are to spend the extended Memorial Day weekend playing the analog version of Farmville. By this I'll be staining my deck, pulling weeds, planting some new plants, and distributing 66 square feet of mulch. Outside of that I'm going to be continuing my time with Hearthstone as I'm finally to the point where my girlfriend only completely destroys me 60 percent of time versus the 85 percent of the time the previous few weeks. I also picked up Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition as part of the recent PS4 sale and hopefully I'll be digging into Ms. Croft's latest adventure between sessions outside.

At work, I'm researching and developing a pre-licensing course for real estate agents. As part of the testing prerequisites, I should make people play 18 to 20 hours of SimCity so they gain an appreciation for land-use control, taxes and assessments, and eminent domain. And by eminent domain, I mean lightning storms, robot attacks, and accidental mouse clicks with the bulldozer. Also, I wonder how my now-offline region is doing. Has nature reclaimed the cities I've utterly abandoned since, what, March of last year?

Anyone who works retail knows that Memorial Day weekend means that you are a slave to the whims of your employer for the entire week. Between shifts I'll either be mowing down grilled meat and veggies, or mowing down oversized pixels in Heavy Bullets. If it's anything like other shooters that involve Heavies, I'll also be mowing down Sandviches.

This weekend is my wedding anniversary so that means going out a lot and spending time with family. But don't count me out for a few rounds of Diablo III. And I'll be going through Wolfenstein: The New Order on PC for review.
