Congratulations, EA. According to The Consumerist, you won't be the Worst Company in America for the third year in a row. Next month, Ouya stops making developers create free demos. Facebook bought Oculus Rift for a cool $2 billion. And the apparently Minecraft-loving Lady Gaga fit Minecraft into her latest video, “G.U.Y.”
What are you playing this weekend?
Russell Archey, staff writer, @NeoScyther
I'll likely be playing either Borderlands 2 or, yep, Final Fantasy VII. With FF7 I now have Aerith's second Level 2 and first Level 3 limit breaks unlocked, so I can actually play the game normally and not have to limit grind with her anymore. For Borderlands 2, I recently started a co-op game with a friend where for the first time ever I went with a character that wasn't a siren. Yeah, I have four siren's in BL1 and a siren in BL2. My co-op class of choice is Gaige the Mecromancer; I love Deathtrap. Playing co-op basically rekindled my love for the game—that and the fact I never finished any DLC, so I have that to work on as well.

I'm playing The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition for Wii U in anticipation of the sequel in about a month. It's a little repetitive and rough around the edges but for some reason I can't stop replaying it. I'm also not sure why people call it ugly. Some of the animations are stiff, granted, but the texture work on Spidey's costume is gorgeous, and standing on top of the Empire State Building as the sunrise filters through the NYC skyline is breathtaking. I hope Beenox carries that sense of realistic beauty over to the new game.

I'll be spending this weekend playing with recently released Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, working to advance my Demon Hunter character to level 70. In addition, I'll be spending some quality time with Titanfall to finish the online campaign maps.

This weekend is going to be a mix of Titanfall and possibly some 4X fun with either Endless Space or the Galactic Civilization III alpha. I made the mistake of firing up Endless Space for a "quick match" last week and that turned into an eight-hour sink hole. The computer may have won an economic victory in turn 280, but they then had to watch as I burned their empire to ash 40 turns later.

I've missed you, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. I've missed your nimble, "Jaysus!"-spouting protagonist, your mean-spirited Jackdaw and your lighthearted sea chanties, the look of determination in a deck swabbie's eyes when I put a captain's hat on his head, or the wide-armed congrats from his buddy standing next to him. So, I'm off to sail the Spanish Main—that is, when I'm not grinding gears in World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition, rolling in my U.K. AT-8 tank killer. You can't beat British steel.

Whenever I play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I like to do the temples in a different order. Through a series of events, even though I've only beaten the Forest Temple so far I have the Eye of Truth, the iron boots, and the longshot. My first objective is to get the Ice Arrows—since they're an item you don't usually get until late in the game, I've never really used them before. After that, I think I'll finish off my two favorite dungeons: the Spirit Temple and Water Temple. I know, I know, everyone is supposed to hate the Water Temple, but Dark Link will always hold a special place in my heart, and a spot on my list of top ten bosses.

Like Travis I'll be reaping some souls as well in Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. But I'll be juggling that with the new 2.2 patch for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Into the Maelstrom is introducing a boatload of new content, including a fight against the massive sea serpent Leviathan, and maybe now I'll have a high enough item level to start taking part in some Bahamut Coil runs. On the side, I've taking to playing Suikoden again on my PS Vita. It's been a long time since I last played this game and it's funny how much of it I still remember. I might have to pop in Suikoden 2 into my PS3 when this is over.

I'm going to finish the BioShock Infinite story as I tackle on Rapture and some familiar faces in Burial at Sea Part 2. It will be a bittersweet moment when I finish the DLC as that'll really mean the end of all things Irrational. Fighting Death will also be in the plans as I tackle on the expansion pack, Diabloe III: Reaper of Souls with a few friends of mine. We spent last level power leveling our characters to be ready to go for this week.
