We already knew that Mega Man developer Keiji Inafune was hard at work on his KickStarter game Mighty No. 9, but today he announced an all new project he is working on alongside Japanese developer Inti Creates. The new game, coming to the Nintendo 3DS, is an action sidescroller called Azure Striker Gunvolt. Its gameplay is reminiscent of the Mega Man X games, as well as the Mega Man Zero series that Inti developed in the past. Despite having just been announced the game is already set for a Summer 2014 release in Japan, though nothing was mentioned about an American release. Check out the video below to see the game for yourself.
This announcement comes as a surprise to me, but it just goes to show what a developer like Inafune can do when he is inspired. I am now looking forward to both Mighty No. 9 and Azure Striker Gunvolt, both of which I will likely be grabbing on my 3DS.
