New SMITE patch this week and with it brings a reworking of Agni, the Hindu god of fire.
Agni has been in the game for a while, but in the latest patch he will receive an update to his model, 2D art, and FX. Guan Yu, Sun Wukong, Hel, He Bo and Kali have gotten similar reworks in the past and Hi-Rez says that more are on the way in the future. The community seems to almost be demanding that Bastet get the rework treatment because to be honest, her current model is pretty terrible compared to the rest of the cast.
In terms of other new content, players will now be able to add player icons that can be seen by people on your friends list. Additional icons and features to this system will be added in future patches.
Next, the Assault game type is getting changed a bit. For a while now, Assault would randomly assign a god from one of each of the five classes in the game to players. The problem with this is that one team could end up with 1-3 healers while the other team didn't get any. This is pretty unfair as the Assault is similar to ARAM in League Of Legends as there is only one lane and you cannot return to base until you die. Now Assault will feature all random picks and if one team gets a healer, the other team will get one as well to keep things fair.
Finally, the new free god rotation is Agni, Loki, Artemis, Sun Wukong, and Sobek.
