Warner Bros. Montreal is the developer for Batman: Arkham Origins. The game has been riddled with bugs some of them game breaking. I encountered a few that really turned me off.
As a player of the first two, I actually spent time after finishing the main story line of both Arkham Asylum and Arkham Origins as I had a ton of fun in both games. With Arkham Origins, I have rarely loaded the game up again and currently, I have it uninstalled from my computer.
People who are still playing are clamoring for a patch to fix the many bugs that still exist in the game. So when you see this from the community manager for Arkham, it's rather disheartening.
Hi all,
The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.
If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.
The team is making their priority to get out new DLC rather than fix the bugs in the game. Really? Is that how you want to treat your customers?
When I develop software for a client and they come back to me with bugs, I make it a priority to fix it. Nothing screams bad service and bad quality like bugs that affect software and diminish a user's experience. To see the folks at Warner Bros. Montreal think it's better to try and grab more cash from folks instead of fixing the product that many gamers paid for is a practice that I can't stomach.
The funny thing in the response is "If we do move forward with creating a new patch". It makes it sound like they don't even have the task to fix bugs on their project timeline. And they will only address progression blocking bugs so anything annoying that doesn't stop you from continuing will be kept in for your gaming pleasure.
I wouldn't blame anyone for boycotting the DLC and any future products from Warner Bros. Montreal. It really is a sad sight to see today if a company doesn't take pride in producing a high quality product and rather tries to live off the brand and hope people will purchase new content over making sure the original product is as bug free as possible.
Decisions like these tend to come back and haunt you and I hope Warner Bros. is ready for the large backlash that's probably going to come out of this for their decision.
