Kinect monitors the Korean border, Olympians play Wii Winter Sports in Sochi, and ex-Ubisoft devs launch civilian drones mapping the entire planet one kilometer at a time.
What are you playing this weekend?

I'll be doing some classic gaming going all the way back to the original Game Boy. One of my favorite Let's Players on YouTube has done what he calls the Mega Man Perfect Run series where he cleared every Robot Master stage using just the Mega Buster and taking no damage in Mega Man 1-10, The Wily Wars, Powered Up, and Mega Man 5 on the Game Boy. Last year I was inspired to try this myself with the other Game Boy games and just recently finished up Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, so this weekend I'll be starting up Mega Man 2. Okay game, but probably more well known for having music far inferior to the other games in the series. For anyone interested, here's the playlist for the Perfect Runs from Dr. Wily's Revenge: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgK3ta0_IuHxcrbYkYYD1n2tH3usN2Rgk

I'm slowly rounding out my collection of obscure Wii games before they get scarce and expensive like GameCube games of yore. This weekend I'm working through Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. So far it's not bad for what it is and the Wiimote controls aren't nearly as heinous as critics said when the game came out a few years back. It's definitely a fair sight better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The folks at Piranha games have rolled out a huge patch for MechWarrior Online which updates the UI significantly and adds a bunch of other tweaks so I'm going to check that out a bit. I'll also be getting some Battlefield 4 in and I'm going to check out Outlast with the GF to see if it's as scary as people say it is.

I'm slipping into Bigby Wolf's neo-noir shoes this weekend in Smoke & Mirrors, the second episode of The Wolf Among Us. I'm apprehensive about how many fights I'll have to get into based on regrettable decisions made in episode one. Will I have to punch Beast because I cut Beauty some slack? Am I practicing enhanced interrogation on the right suspect? In the Pudding & Pie strip club, will I be able to lean forward and sit back in my seat like I could in Mass Effect? I have so many questions.

More importantly, Randy, can I make it rain if I didn't give the mystery girl my money? Cause I'll go all the way back to episode one and snub her just for that. I will also be making a trip to Fabletown this week for a Wolf Among Us review, as well as doing a second playthrough of The Floor is Jelly to see if I can find all of the secret houses.

I haven't been playing many games lately, partially due to school starting again, but mostly due to the lack of interesting new releases. I picked up Nidhogg a few weeks back and it is fantastic but only when I can find time to play with one of my roommates. I've also repeatedly tried to get into my backlog games, such as Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, but fail every time. Luckily my gaming problems will be solved today with the release of Bravely Default which should give me nearly 100 hours of enjoyment over the next few weeks, or at least until Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Dark Souls II release! Other than that, I always make time for Dota 2, especially after a big new update. The recently released New Bloom update added two new heroes and one amazing new game mode and I plan on breaking the 400-hour mark checking out all the new content.

With a new dog, I am limited in what I can play since I don’t want to leave her out of my sight for long. So, I've gone and installed Battlefield 4 on my Steam box in the living room and will be playing that as well as some Civilization V.
