PlayStation has released the 1.60 update which includes support for PULSE and PULSE - Elite Edition wireless headsets. The headsets have a 7.1 virtual surround sound and support for video chat.
SCEA will also release the new Gold Wireless Headset which has the same 7.1 virtual surround sound but also offers special sound support for PlayStation games, like inFAMOUS: Second Son, created by the developers. In addition to the PS4 they will also support PS3 and PC/Mac through a wireless adaptor and PS Vita/ other mobile devices via a 3.5mm audio cable. The Gold headsets will also include a noise canceling microphone, customizable faceplates, interactivity with the Headset Companion App for custom audio modes, and a rechargeable battery touted to last eight hours. The Gold Headsets will be released in early February for $99.
