Dead Island free starting tomorrow for Xbox Gold subscribers, Dead End Thrills points and shoots

According to Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb's blog, Dead Island goes on the Games with Gold docket tomorrow, making the open-world zombie thriller free to download for Xbox LIVE Gold members from February 1 - 15.

Now's the perfect time to visit a gallery of recent Dead Island screenshots from "K-Putt" of the incomparable Dead End Thrills Flickr group. No no no, your Xbox 360 screens won't look as good as K-Putt's. They snapped these shots on a PC at 7200 x 3000, then got down to the dirty work of post-processing the images to look even prettier. I'm not worried about all that. I'll just lick my chops until I get to try out Dead Island for the very first time, a game that could've been a 2011 game of the year contender.
