I know we don't talk much about iOS games and such on here...well, not that I've seen anyway, or it might just get lost in the shuffle...anyway, I saw an article on Screw Attack that I just had to share. Major fans of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis might know the story about a rumored zone in the game known as the Hidden Palace Zone that was never finished for the final game, but hackers eventually found traces of it in the code in a nearly finished state, yet still very playable.
According to Screw Attack, that scenario has now come full circle. Sega has decided to complete the zone and include it as bonus content in the new Android and iOS versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, including having Knuckles playable and including it in Boss Rush Mode. That's awesome to see Sega do something like this; take a stage or entire zone that was never completed, finish it, then release it. Maybe we'll see that one day with Sonic Xtreme! Oh wait, that's right, Sonic Lost World. Derp!
