Cranky Kong joins Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze as a playable character

Donkey Kong will have Diddy and Dixie as available partners in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Nintendo announced at VGX that he will have yet another partner come February. The old man himself Cranky Kong will be available as a playable character for the first time in the franchise and can use his can to bounce on dangerous objects like spikes.

Scrooge McDuck anyone?

This ability will also help him reach places others can't reach. In single-player mode, Cranky rides on Donkey Kong's back and in co-op, a second player can control Cranky, Diddy or Dixie.

Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze is a new and original adventure in the Donkey Kong Country franchise and will be available for Wii-U owners on February 21st 2014.
