Happy PlayStation 4 Launch Day, ladies and gentlemen. At least in North America. Sorry, Japan -- see you in February 2014. Also, 'Murica, you have exactly seven days before the Xbox One hits the scene. Again, sorry, Japan -- see you in 20XX.
What are you playing this weekend?

Deus Ex: Human Revolution...yeah, didn't go so well. Again, I'm more of the run-and-gun type than a stealth person, so when stealth is required, it's not really for me. That said, I've been putting a lot of time into Borderlands 1 and 2 recently, mainly because I never finished the second playthrough on either of them. When you play a Siren on both it's hard to go from Phaselocking back to Phasewalking. I keep wondering why the enemies aren't stuck in place anymore.

This weekend will consist of more Call of Duty: Ghosts for me. I just can't get enough and love the more tactical feel of this game over Black Ops 2. I am also hoping to get a chance to dive into Injustice: Gods Among Us for the Vita which I have been waiting for with a lot of anticipation. The Vita is my fighting game system of choice and I cannot wait to dive back into developer NetherRealm's world on the go.

This will be a busy but rewarding weekend. I'm working my way through both Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I can't say anything else without breaking embargo, but let's just say it would be a good idea to get a Wii U and a 3DS this holiday. A very, very good idea.

I've finished up reviews for The Dark Eye: Demonicon and theHunter, which now transfers my time over to The Sims 3: Into the Future expansion pack and the Train Simulator 2014: Pacific Surfliner LA - San Diego route downloadable content. While not reviewing games, I'll be spending many hours clicking away in recently released Grim Dawn through Steam Early Access in addition to free-to-play Path of Exile, which is an excellent game, I might add.

I picked up my spanking new PlayStation 4 along with copies of Killzone: Shadow Fall and Resogun, and then headed home to hook the system up. Then I went to bed and headed to Chicago for a weekend vacation with my wonderful girlfriend. I'll probably get some Plants vs. Zombies 2 in when it's her turn to drive, but the weekend's entertainment is going to be analog rather than digital.

Dang Skyrim. It's become a secret shame of mine. Compared to any other period in my personal gaming history, I have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to game selection. I have games in my Origin account laying untouched. Another raft of games in Steam wondering if I'll ever get around to them. GOG.com's all like, "Bro, you don't call, you don't write?" GamersGate, Green Man Gaming, Desura, and Amazon also have titles I've bought and haven't touched. Yet here I am, once more with my hands bound together, chilling in an Imperial prison cart on its way to some podunk town called Helgen, where some uniformed dude will look at me and ask, "Who are you?" Dang Skyrim.

I'm too poor for next gen systems. Cue sad Charlie Brown music. That being said, this week's gaming theme is Stuff I Bought on Sale. I'm hoping to finally devour The Walking Dead - Season One on a day off, and maybe even get around to playing everyone's favorite claymation clone story, The Swapper.

For this weekend, since I passed on the PS4, it's a whole lot of anime! By that I mean a bunch of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst (because words!), and Disgaea D2! In between all of that I'll be continuing this grind to level 50 in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I've also got Batman: Arkham Origins from Gamefly. Hopefully it'll wash the bad taste of Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate out of my mouth.
