I just started playing League of Legends this past week and I must say, I'm having tons of fun. I avoided this game for so long because I have never really been a fan of RTS style point and click gameplay. I have heard that the barrier of entry for this game is extremely high which is why I stayed away for so long as well.
This past week however, I feel that the stars aligned as the newest champion Jinx was part of the free champion roster and I instantly fell in love with her. I went 9-4 in my first PVP match which I personally think is not too shabby. I would like to apologize though for being "that guy." Yes you know them. The noobs that instalock certain champions? Yeah, I was that guy and I am so so sorry.
It pains me however to read that she has gotten a nerf in the latest League of Legends patch that was released today.
So what changed for Jinx in the latest patch?
Summary: Switcheroo!’s Minigun attack speed bonus has been reduced at early ranks. Zap!’s base damage has been reduced at early ranks and its mana cost has been slightly increased. Zap! also no longer reveals stealthed units.
Context: We feel that while Jinx's kit has a lot of built-in weakness in the mid and late game, her early lane dominance is so overwhelming that it distorts her overall power across the entire game. The goal here is to address Jinx’s early damage potential while trying to minimize effects on her late game.
I totally understand why they did this because she was pretty deadly early game. As a new player I thought to myself in my first couple of PVP matches that I really shouldn't be doing this well and she may be OP. Oh well, just means i'll have to practice more.
The new free Champion rotation for this week is Fiddlesticks, Jax, Taric, Vayne, Fizz, Lulu, Rengar, Kza'Zix, Lissandra and Lucian. Awesome news for me as I will get to try out some more Champions to see if there are any others that I really enjoy.
