More On: Civilization V

While many gamers are still going through GTA V or Pokemon X/Y, some people still prefer the simpler games...well, as simple as Civilization can get anyway.  For those who still enjoy a good game of Civ V, one new map pack has been released with another one getting released next month.

The Scrambled Continents map pack is now available for $4.99 and lets players use a wide variety of real-world geographic locations as backdrops for their games.  Even though the outline stays constant, the interior landscape changes every time you play.  The maps included are Africa, Eastern Asia, North America, South America, Western Europe, the Middle East, and more.

The Scrambled Nations map pack will release on November 5th and will include maps for Canada, Australia, Japan, Scandinavia, Great Britain, and China.  Here, the geographic outlines are correct, but like with the Scrambled Continents pack the interiors are randomized with each new game.

New York, NY – October 15, 20132K and Firaxis Games announced today that two new map packs* are coming to Sid Meier’s Civilization® V. The Scrambled Continents map pack is now available from participating digital retailers for $4.99. The Scrambled Nations map pack will be available from participating digital retailers on November 5, 2013, also for $4.99. Inspired by the Scramble for Africa scenario included in Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Brave New World, these map packs include real geographic outlines with randomized interiors, giving players even more ways to experience Civilization V and achieve world domination.

The Scrambled Continents map pack gives fans a new way to play Civilization V where they will use a wide variety of real-world geographic locations as the backdrops for their games. While the familiar outline of the continent’s geography stays constant, the interior landscape changes each time you play, resulting in endless replayability and countless plausible scenarios. The maps included in Scrambled Continents are Africa, Eastern Asia, North and South America, Western Europe, Middle East, a thawed Antarctica, new scripted maps for Small Continents, Oceania, and one map including all of Earth’s continents.

The Scrambled Nations map pack is available on November 5, 2013 and includes maps for the geographic regions of Canada, Australia, Japan, Scandinavia, Great Britain and China. The geographic outlines of each nation are exact; however, as with the Scrambled Continents map pack, the interiors are randomized each time a new game begins, resulting in unlimited replayability.

Sid Meier’s Civilization V is rated E10+ by the ESRB and is available for Windows-based PC and Mac. For more information on Civilization V, please visit www.civilization.com, become a fan on Facebook, follow Civ on Twitter and subscribe on YouTube.
