Ten hand-picked indie developers will compete against each other in the "Selected Developers" category, and there will be a separate "Open Call" category for any and all indie developers to register and compete for the top prize. Over $50,000 will be given away as prizes, with $10,000 going to the winners of each category.
The VR Jam starts August 2nd and ends on August 25th, the finalists will be announced on September 13th, and the winners on September 19th. The winners will be flown to the IndieCade Festival, where their games will be showcased and they'll be invited to the Oculus HQ to meet the team. Check out the
rules and submissions page to sign up or get more info on VR Jam.
After checking out the rules and hearing Palmer Luckey's Holy Grail of Gamin speech, I'm excited to see what kinds of stuff gets cooked up for this Jam. I can only hope that the folks working on
Throw Trucks With Your Mind get in on this.
