Happy Fourth of July Weekend, Murica! Master Chief's Warthog rolled through Seattle's Gay Pride March last Sunday, the MoMA added Minecraft to its art collection, and in an unexpected thread of Gaming Nexus emails, the staff can't decide if The Cabin in the Woods is better than Cats or worse than Transformers. Looky, fireworks.
What are you playing this weekend?

By the time the weekend rolls around I hope I'm actually done with
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and can move onto something else. I recently decided to start up
Alpha Protocol (one of those Steam *insert holiday here* deal games I never got around to playing) and so far I'm enjoying it. Granted I've only gone up to just getting past the orientations, so we'll see how the actual missions go. I'll also be diving into my next review piece which is
Project X Zone, a game I've been wanting to check out since I heard it was coming to the 3DS.

I have turned back the clock and have somehow locked myself into
Final Fantasy VIII which I consider to be the best storyline-FF game with the worst battle system known to man. However, now that I'm older and actually understand it, it shames me to admit that I kind of like it. It's just confusing as hell.

I am going to be traveling for the holiday so all of my gaming has to be mobile. Thankfully, that includes the amazing
Muramasa Rebirth on the Vita and a healthy dose of
Magic 2014 on my laptop. Happy Birthday, America, now tap 3 and swing for 6.

I’m playing Washington State Fireworks Simulator 2013 because I live in Oregon where they only let us buy tiny fireworks like Whistling Petes and Ground Bloom Flowers and, like, Pop-Its. Most gaming I’ll get in--since me and the fam are staying at the in-laws all weekend--is whatever’s been sitting untouched on my Windows Phone (
Minicraft? Okay, Notch, I’ll see what’s up with that). Time to set up a long-training skill for my
EVE Online account.

I preordered
Rogue Legacy about a week before it was released and have been pretty much been trekking through it nonstop since it released last Thursday. Expect a glowing review of this one. When I'm not sending my children off to die in a cursed castle, I'm finally playing
Borderlands 2 for the first time.
