Call of Duty: Ghosts releases this fall in November and included with a pre-order of the anticipated game is a sweet multiplayer map called
Free Fall. The map will feature the new “dynamic event map mechanic”.
Free Fall will lead in the “first details on how players will encounter the changing environments in the leading multiplayer experience on consoles”.
So what will these new events be like? Well according to Mark Rubin, executive producer at Infinity Ward, these dynamic map events will “change the way players approach the game, and
Free Fall does a great job illustrating this new mechanic. As the match progresses, the geometry of the world continues to change and players need to adjust on the fly or else”. One example of these dynamic map events is in
Free Fall as players are dropped into a shattered skyscraper threatening to collapse and continues to break down throughout the course of a multiplayer match. With each drop, shockwaves will follow that will break down the building even more, this essentially will constantly change paths as the map changes in real-time.
(whistles) Damn... That’s does sound pretty cool. I’d really be interested in learning more about these dynamic map events if things like that were to happen in each one. It should certainly make for some wild matches, not to mention maybe some flustered players, which just sounds amusing. That could make for some hilarious “let’s play” commentary.
Anywho...don’t forget,
Call of Duty: Ghosts launches November 5th this fall season.
