Yep, you read that right. As the title suggests, the shoes (or rather the voice talent) of David Hayter, former talent as the English voice of Kojima's iconic character, have been replaced with that of 24 star and veteran Kiefer Sutherland. Konami had announced earlier today in their pre-E3 conference
(check it out here!) that Sutherland was assigned the role of Big Boss in the hotly anticipated
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Says Sutherland on playing the role, "It's an honor to be able to play this character. This character has an unbelievable legacy. There's a real personal quality to the character that I've connected to..."
Along with providing the voice, Sutherland has also done motion and facial-capture for the games animation. As a big fan of 24, I'm personally excited for this and am very interested to see and hear more of this as it comes along, especially in a gameplay demo of some sort. A new trailer for The Phantom Pain will be revealed on the game's official site on June 12.
