Fighting in hockey is one of the most misunderstood things in professional hockey. It's not about two guys beating the ever loving snot out of each others but teammates sticking up for each other and making sure the unwritten code of hockey is enforced to maintain order on the ice.
With that in mind it's interesting to see that NHL 14 is completely revamping the fighting engine for NHL 14. No longer will this portion of the game be it's own mini-game but rather it's built into the game and shows a more realistic view of what happens when two players go at it. The third person perspective of the game is maintained and you now have a better view of the fighting action. To better illustrate these changes EA Sports has released this video which shows off all of the new changes.
