It looks like Sony has given
users the ability to upgrade the hard drives of the PLAYSTATION 3. While my Japanese is a little rusty (well, non existant) it looks like one person in Japan has been able to upgrade their PS3 with a 120GB model. This is pretty cool as it will allow those stuck with the lower end configuration to upgrade to a bigger HD. Given that some of the PS3 launch titles are going to allow you to install 5GB segments to speed loading times this is a nice feature. Whether or not Sony cracks down on this in the future is up in the air (this could be a huge hole for pirating software) is uncertain.
