Wargame: Airland Battle is out, if Wargaming.net is taking too long with their World of [insert war machine here] for you. I'm kidding. Battleships or GTFO,
Wargame. There's
GRID 2 if you like your racers steamy and sexy and carnal and anthropomorphized as I'm overdoing here. Or
FUSE might get its mediocre four-player co-op claws into you; hey, sometimes it’s those split-decision games that turn out to be the most interesting.
What are you playing this weekend?

I recently decided to pick up
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D at Best Buy since there's an offer exclusive to Best Buy that nets you a free download code for
Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (the Famicom version, so that would be Japan's
Super Mario Bros. 2) from the eShop. Other than that, I also recently picked up
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the DS. It's not bad so far, but I'm still unsure how I feel about the Glyph System.

If this terrible cast/wrap comes off of my hand today, I plan on diving back into
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. If it doesn't come off, then I will go back to playing
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years on my dusted off Wii.

Now that we are getting closer to summer, my gaming time will be cut down by work, but I'll try to get some in this weekend when I can. I am going to be picking up
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D which I'm very excited about because I really miss this series. Now all you gotta do is put the original SNES Donkey Kong Country games on the 3DS Virtual Console and you will have all of my money, Nintendo. In my downtime, I've been spending a bunch of time with
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns which is such an amazing wrestling game. I'll also be picking up the PS2 classic and one of my favorite games of all time,
The Warriors, on the PlayStation Network. Finally, I also bought
Doom Classic Complete on PS3. It occurred to me that I never finished
Final Doom and am currently making my way through
TNT Evilution. I had forgotten how much I love
Doom. This game is 20+ years old and I still find myself slowly going around tight corridors with little health, not knowing what's going to be coming at me next.

Nothing new. I'll hopefully finish my
BioShock: Infinite 1999 playthrough. It's so much better when you play it with the subtitles on so, you know, you can hear all the super-important dialogue. Now that Euro football season is over, I'll be sublimating that pain into
FIFA 13 career mode with spurs--I don't want to wait until August to see Gareth Bale play again. And strangely enough, I've been re-hooked by
Red Dead Redemption. I guess I'm using that to deal with my unresolved longing for
GTA V. What a depressing week for me and gaming.

Strangely enough I'm playing through
Quake II again. It's a pretty nostalgic game I first played in high school, and in my opinion it’s the high point of the series, at least as far as single-player goes. I might also hunt down a wired 360 controller this weekend so I can start in on my backlog of indie platformers, specifically
Super Meat Boy,
Limbo, and a second crack at
They Bleed Pixels.

In addition to heading off into the world of
Marvel Heroes, I have to head back for some more
CastleStorm. That game is seriously addictive and something I just can't put down. Plus, I might squeeze in a match or two of
Prime World: Defenders to get my CCG/TD fix.

It's all
EVE everything. It's hard for me to talk about
EVE Online without my statements turning themselves into hyperbole theater. Even as the game endured 10 years of evolution and revolution, its core competencies have always been a masterpiece of sandbox design. That is, if the sandbox were a beach. And the gameplay elements were varied enough to fit into a garage-sized Craftsman toolbox. See? There I go again. Suffice it to say, after a four-year hiatus, I'm all up in
EVE like Adam, and typing up the stories as I go along, though the stories pretty much write themselves.

Well, I accidentally stayed up until 6:00 AM playing
Amnesia: The Dark Descent last night, and only turned on my lights to check the shadows in my closet twice. So I'll probably be polishing that off sometime this week. Between that and work, I'll be playing the glitchy-but-entertaining
Neverwinter MMO beta with my lady, taking advantage of the bonus XP scrolls we got for the infamous Caturday rollback.

Now that I'm done with
FUSE, I'll be playing the FPS tower defense hybrid,
Sanctum 2. I'm a fan of both of its halves, so I'm thoroughly enjoying the few hours I've played so far.
