EA SPORTS NHL 14 Cover Vote Narrows to 16 Candidates
Fans Have Already Voted More Than 12 Million Times; Daily Vote Totals Up Nearly 70% Over Last Year’s Campaign
May 6, 2013 – EA SPORTS™, the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA
®), and the National Hockey League (NHL
®) announced today the 16 NHL players who have advanced to the next round of the EA SPORTS
NHL®14 Cover Vote. Beginning today, the campaign shifts to a 16-player bracket format as players compete in head-to-head matchups for a spot in the quarterfinals. Fans have voted more than 12 million times through the first two rounds, with daily vote totals up nearly 70% over the
NHL 13 Cover Vote Campaign.
Fans can vote an unlimited number of times at
NHL.com/CoverVote. Voting for this round closes on May 12 at 11:59pm ET. The winner of the cover vote campaign will be revealed as the
NHL 14 Cover Athlete during the 2013 Stanley Cup
® Final.
NHL® 14 Cover Vote Round of 16 Matchups
The Round of 16 Bracket features many storied NHL team rivalries including two Original Six
TM matchups: the Boston Bruins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (Tyler Seguin vs. James van Riemsdyk) and the Montreal Canadiens vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (P.K. Subban vs. Joffrey Lupul). In addition, last year’s Stanley Cup Final is reignited in the matchup between Los Angeles Kings forward Anze Kopitar and New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur. Finally, two Atlantic Division rivals meet as Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds attempts to upset Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin.

This year fans can double their voting power by using
