The winning team, named
Farkio Impact, which, incidentally, sounds like a Japanese pro soccer club, and consists of Damon "Karma" Barlow, Adam "Killa" Sloss, Marcus "MiRx," and team captain Chris "Parasite" Duarte (pictured below) took home this year's
Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox. It took three days and the pwnage of 29 other professional four-player teams with names like
EnVyUs (sounds like a new boy band) who took second place and
OpTic Gaming (A company that makes anti-glare gaming glasses?) who took third.
Prize payouts will make you hate everything:
Fariko Impact took home $400,000,
EnVyUs took home $200,000,
OpTic Gaming took home $120,000. The rest of the million dollar purse was distributed equally to the remaining top eight teams.
So you see that kids? When your parents told you to study because you'll never make money playing videogames, they were lying.
