Suda51's next game,
Killer is Dead, has recently been unveiled through Japanese gaming magazine
Famitsu along with details regarding its premise and various characters. In addition to gameplay details and screenshots, a trailer is also available showcasing the bloody and over-the-top action.
Goichi Suda, or better known as Suda51, and
Grasshopper Manufacture are developing the game in collaboration with publisher
Kodakawa Games.
At first glance, the game's visuals and gameplay bare a close resemblance to both Killer 7 and the No More Heroes series. From an interview with Suda, it seems that is all Killer is Dead shares with his previous projects as he is focusing on developing a game that is focused on the present rather than past development ideas and concepts. In Killer is Dead, players assume the role of assassin Mondo Zappa as he locates and hunts targets across the world.
Killer is Dead is scheduled for release this summer in Japan and unfortunately no details have yet to be revealed about its departure elsewhere. If past games developed by Grasshopper are any indicator, there's a good chance that the game will eventually receive a release in other territories.
