We know Kojima's going to maker another Metal Gear. But, was the first view of the game on last night during the Spike VGAs? Konami debuted a trailer for a game called
The Phantom Pain. Seems new enough until some
folks at NeoGaf started to notice a few things.
First up, the game's by Moby Dick Studios, which is a studio that's never been heard of until now. They
have a sparse web page and their CEO is Joakim Mogren. Joakim is an anagram for Kojima. So there's that. One thing I did notice though is that there's logos for both PS3 and Xbox 360, which if it is Metal Gear Solid 5, would it mean they are going cross platform?
Second, there are some coincidences with the some of the scenes in The Phantom Pain teaser to some images from Metal Gear. There's a similar scar on the cheek of the main character to a recent Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes trailer of Snake. And man, that mullet looks pretty familiar.
But the big kicker might be the logo for The Phantom Pain. Someone transposed the words Metal Gear Solid V on some of the lines in the logo and, well, it lines up perfectly.
So is Kojima just trolling everyone and this is really a look at
Metal Gear Solid 5? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
