DLC on the PlayStation 3 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been, well, absent. Hearthfire and Dawnguard available for the Xbox 360 and PC hasn't made it to the Sony console. Well, it looks like Bethesda is finally releasing one on the PS3.
Bethesda has announced that while
Dragonborn is hitting the Xbox 360 today, the latest DLC will be coming to the PC AND PS3 early next year. That's good that PlayStation 3 owners will finally be able to experience extra content for Skyrim. The bad news is that it won't come out until 2013, which as a PC owner myself, makes the news a little disappointing.
I understand the business side of things, but it still doesn't mask my feelings about DLC console exclusivity. I've heard from a few folks around me more than once that they forgot about the Dawnguard when it was finally released on the PC as they were playing other games, and thus losing Bethesda a sale. But, it is what it is so I'm hopeful the DLC launches real early in 2013. My plans of fighting the first Dragonborn during Christmas break has been vanquished though.
