Namco Bandai has released a new Wii U launch trailer for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 which comes out this Sunday. The game will feature "exciting Nintendo-themed modes and features exclusive to the Wii U system", but will also retain everything from the game's release on other home consoles earlier this year. Some of the features include Mushroom Battle, where players can collect power-ups from the Mario universe to use against opponents, such as Super Mushrooms and Stars, and can also use "Nintendo crossover costumes" which lets players outfit their favorite Tekken characters with costumes from franchises such as Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, and F-Zero.
I'll be honest, the trailer looks pretty good, but I'm always a little weary when Nintendo takes a serious game such as Tekken, Soul Caliber, and NBA Street (someone correct me if I'm wrong on NBA Street) and throws in some Nintendo-themed stuff such as Link in Soul Calibur and Mario characters in NBA Street. If it fits, that's fine, but I still question it sometimes.
