So, you thought the Call of Duty train would be slowing down? Think again.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 just set a new record for a first day release making roughly $500 million in 24 hours.
Black Ops 2, which I am reviewing now on the PC, broke Modern Warfare 3's record of $400 million. For another comparison, Halo 4 did $220 million in 24 hours although that game is exclusive to the Xbox 360. Yes, the game still sells like hotcakes.
I know people complain about the series, but their voices get drowned out it seems by the oodles of folks that go and buy it anyways. Then there's people who thought the game would be slowing down with the IP's original creator, Infinity Ward, having their problems with publisher Activision.
In the end, Call of Duty sets another record and it sold an absurd amount of copies leaving Activision laughing all the way to the bank.
