Jordan Mechner’s remake of the classic Karateka is now officially available for Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade. The new game is a re-imagining of the original 1984 release and incorporates a rhythm-based combat mechanic. The same, original story is here, but retold with more cinematic gameplay sections that will tie together the entire experience.
The game is currently available on the XBLA and will launch later this month on the PlayStation Network, Steam, and iOS platforms. We will have our full review of the XBLA version as well as a brief interview with the series creator and industry icon Jordan Mechner in the very near future.
