Lost in this announcement for the
BioShock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition (
check out high rez pics right here) is just how ******* scary the Songbird is. Those wings and claws combined with its disturbingly humanoid form give me the willies more so than the Big Daddies and Little Sisters ever did.
The real meat of the
Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition may be that nine and a half inch Songbird statue, but that's not all it comes with. You'll also get a
3-inch baby version keychain of the sold-out
Murder of Crows vigor bottle replica, a
5x7-inch lithograph by Irrational Games Concept Artist Jorge Lacera, a
25mm resin-cast Handyman miniature from the upcoming
BioShock Infinite board game by Plaid Hat Games (Summoner Wars), A
mini art book full of BioShock Infinite concept art and commentary with a hand-distressed cover, and finally, various digital goodies including
exclusive in-game gear,
digital soundtrack, and
platform specific DLC (Xbox 360 Avatars and Themes for the PC and PS3).
But maybe the real scary part of this announcement is the price: the
BioShock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition will cost you $149.99. There's also the
BioShock Infinite Premium Edition that comes with all of that except for the Songbird statue. That's a far more reasonable $79.99.
Finally, if you happen to live in Europe or Australia, you'll have to wait until October 22 before you can pre-order either the
Ultimate Songbird Edition or the
Premium Edition.
