Even if just for a moment, I though it was the mid-90‘s this morning. That is because when I look at the list of new titles available on this week’s digital release lists I saw Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS into Dreams (now I know that sonic Adventure 2 isn’t that old, but Sonic himself is). I, for one, am excited to see these two franchises back as they bring back fond memories of some of my favorite years in gaming. Both games hold a special plane in Sega’s storied history and have received the full high definition treatment for their modern releases.
The games hit the PlayStation Network today and the Xbox Live Marketplace later this week (and the PC at a later date). It is worth noting that NiGHTS into Dreams even includes the popular Christmas NiGHTS expansion that launched back on Sega’s Saturn at no additional charge. Sonic Adventure 2 will also have some additional content, but it will be offered as DLC. The “Battle Mode” is being added later this week for $3.00 / 240 Microsoft points and will add in maps and characters that were added in the Gamecube update of the game.
You can expect our full reviews of both games soon and the official press release regarding their release on the next page!
