Wow, with budgets and graphics as good as they are these days even farming games look great. Focus Home Interactive has a new trailer out for Farming Simulator 2013, showcasing the game's impressive selection of vehicles, including plenty of name-brand tractors and combines. Man, corporate product placement too! Why in my day, all we had was Harvest Moon with the cute little cartoon cows and festivals and static isometric viewpoints and whatnot.
Oh well. I'm glad to see farm sims at least moving past the inanity of Farmville and its operant conditioning nonsense. Realistic farm sims rightly have a place along train and plane sims, and I'll always have a soft spot for the cheery anime cuteness of Harvest Moon. But when I have to pay real money to water my crops? Nope, not this grizzled old hayseed, no sir.
