As a big Metroid fan I've always been impressed by
Retro Studios, first because of their stellar track record when it comes to my favorite Nintendo franchise, but also by just how good they are at keeping their projects under wraps. While both the 3DS and Wii U details were leaked months ahead of time, and Sony has become a laughingstock of worst-kept-secrets, Retro has an almost perfect shroud of secrecy.
That doesn't keep Nintendo fans from guessing, of course. The folks over at Zelda Informer have a
new editorial up where they speculate on just what Retro has been busily working on ever since they released Donkey Kong Country Returns. Is Retro returning to Metroid? Maybe they're working on a 3D Donkey Kong platformer like DK64. It's almost definitely not a new F-Zero, sadly. My money's on a new StarFox game, something we haven't had in far too long. Regardless, Zelda Informer has collected the few meager hints that have slipped onto the net from job postings and the like. It's an intriguing read.
