The
Mass Effect series is my favorite videogame series of all time. I'm a sucker for science fiction and BioWare's magnum opus is the first videogame series to really offer me the something approaching the kind of fictional depth I can find in movies or books. And now today, BioWare has revealed (via
Ray Mazyka's Twitter, at least that's where I saw it) that all three games in the series are going to be packaged and sold as a boxed set in time for Christmas this year.
This five-disc boxed set, called the
Mass Effect Trilogy will obviously include all three games and
Mass Effect 3's popular multiplayer component. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with much in the way of extra goodies aside from a fancy premium foil box and some Commander Shepard artwork. However, don't get too down on this boxed set because it will only cost $59.99.
Also, even though the November 6th release date only applies to the PC and Xbox 360 versions, there is a Playstation 3 version of the
Mass Effect Trilogy is in the works that will, for the first time, allow PS3 gamers the opportunity to play the original
Mass Effect.
