Ultima Online celebrates its 15th anniversary

By now, millions of gamers around the world are adding some Kung-Fu Panda to their online gaming fun with the recent World of Warcraft expansion Mists of Pandaria.  When you think about it, WoW's been around for quite some time, eight years this November in fact.  What could be better?

How about celebrating your 15th anniversary?

That's exactly what EA and Mythic are doing, because it was fifteen years ago yesterday when Ultima Online was released.  The subscriber count may not be what WoW's is...in fact, it's nowhere near it, but to say that an MMO has been going for fifteen years is quite an accomplishment.  In fact, EA and Mythic are celebrating this milestone by introducing a new story arc that will run seven months and will usher in a new king in an upcoming in-game event.  Check out the press release for more info or head on over to http://www.uo.com.

Mythic to Crown a New “King” To Mark The 15-Year Anniversary Of The Longest Running MMO Of All-Time

 

 

 

Electronic Arts and Mythic are proud to announce the 15^th anniversary of the massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) Ultima™ Online. Originally released on September 24, 1997, Ultima Online is a fantasy MMORPG set in the legendary Ultima™ universe and was the first game of its kind to gain a dedicated widespread audience.
