Who has played Skyrim and asked themselves, "Gee, I wish I could build my own home and have a family?" I guess there have been a few, as Bethesda announced today the next DLC for the game called Hearthfire.
So the DLC is going to be 400 MS points on Xbox 360 initially September 4th. That translates to $5 for when it hits the PC or the PS3 (if it ever does).
Hearthfire lets you buy a plot of land, build a house and adopt children. You'll be able to purchase some land and craft materials to build the house. You can also hire help if you just don't want to go through all the hard work of owning a home.
The DLC will also incorporate a new adoption system, because it seems being a Dragonborn has made you sterile and the only way to have children is by taking them from others.
It's certainly a departure from their other DLCs in the past, but who knows. Some of you out there may want to just make your own home and decorate it as you would like. Now, if only Bethesda would make a multiplayer patch so I can go show off these nice new homes to others as well as go adventuring with them. Anyways, check out the new features of Hearthfire below.
We’re pleased to announce Hearthfire™, the next official game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®. As demonstrated in this just-released video, Hearthfire allows you to purchase land and build your own home from the ground up - from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with armory, alchemy laboratory, and more. Choose your land, customize your house, guard it from unwanted visitors, and turn your house into a home by adopting children.
