Tomorrow, we will be debuting a new article series here on Gaming Nexus entitled GN Unplugged. Just what is GN Unplugged? Let me explain...
Games have been around for thousands of years, long before we plugged into consoles and computers. Just ask John Locke (bonus points for getting the reference), the game of backgammon dates back more than 5,000 years. Now, more than ever, gaming has evolved to more than just a hobby; it is a full fledged culture. Its influence is evident in nearly everything you could imagine: movies, toys, music, art... you name it.
Unplugged is meant to shine light on the gaming culture’s influence in these areas. We’ll talk about anything and everything related to games without being plugged into your systems. We’ll highlight and review toys, board and card games, videos and cartoons, and even comic books. If it is a non-video game related to the gaming culture, we intend on shining the spotlight on them to make sure that the word gets out there about their existence.
The series will kick off with a review of one of the intro packs from the new Magic 2013 Core Set. From there, the possibilities are endless. If you have any ideas about something that you would like to see covered in the new series, please feel free to send and e-mail to
