Sackboy and all of his little sack-friends have officially set course for the karting world, and they are due to arrive on November 6, 2012. Sony has officially announced that LittleBigPlanet Karting will launch for the PlayStation Network on that day in North America.
The game, which is currently undergoing a semi-public beta through the PlayStation Network, takes all of the concepts of LittleBigPlanet and confines them to a single game genre: kart racing. Essentially, this is ModNation Racers with Sackboy at the helm. Players can create and share their own racers, karts, and tracks with friends online and all of it is done with incredible ease. I have spent a decent amount of time with the current beta and definitely think that Sony and Sackboy have another winner on their hands.
Sony has also announced a special pre-order bonus for gamers who reserve the game at participating retailers. Advanced orders of the game will include a redeemable code to get access to an exclusive Kevin Butler skin for Sackboy and his patented golf cart. Everyone's favorite VP of everything is finally making his way to Sony's console(s) in playable form. Now we just need to get him in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
