This is starting to get a little troublesome isn't it? Markus Persson is the man behind a little game called
Minecraft. He's a pretty big indie developer and
he's the next person to speak out against Windows 8.
Being an indie developer, he's worried about Microsoft locking down Windows 8, which is something that we should all who game on the PC should worry about.
As we get closer to the launch of Windows 8 on October 26th, I am starting to get a little nervous reading these comments from established veterans in the industry. Now, we could end up with another Windows ME, where people just are happy with what they have and skip it, but who knows what will happen. Microsoft's got a lot riding on Windows 8 though.
I wouldn't be surprised if more game developers come out and start to talk against Windows 8. Gabe just could have started something that's going to snowball into a huge avalanche of cries against the new OS. I don't remember any other iteration of Windows where developers talked bad about it, so this is pretty uncharted territory.
How will or will Microsoft respond is something I'm looking forward to seeing.
