Nintendo officially dubs August Mario-month

Nintendo is rolling out the red carpet for the release of New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game, which will launch on August 19, 2012, will be preceeded by 4 consecutive weeks of Mario themed discounts on the Nintendo eShop.
The celebration kicks off this week with the discount of the original Super Mario Bros. to $3.99 for one week beginning on July 26. Discounts will continue each of the following weeks and include Super Mario Land ($2.99), Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins ($2.99), and Mario’s Picross ($2.99).
As I mentioned, Mario’s new adventure kicks off on August 19 and will be available both at retailers and through digital means from the Nintendo eShop. The release of the game will also coincide with the new Nintendo 3DS XL system.
