Way back in April when I reviewed the new Xbox 360 version of Anomaly Warzone Earth, one thing I didn't lament was the lack of local co-op. My experiences with local co-op involve more screaming and declarations of infinite hate than mind-meldingly epic strategy combos that somehow become more powerful than the sum of their parts.
Obviously, a strategy game like Anomaly Warzone Earth is either going to bring out the best or worst in the players if they attempted local co-op. Sometimes, it was hard enough to try and get my units to go where I wanted them to go by myself, so I can't imagine what it would be like to be fighting the brain power of another gamer with his or her own ideas about where to go and what to do.
What I'm getting at is that Anomaly Warzone Earth will be hitting the PS3 sometime this summer and will have the added feature of local co-op. The co-op will work by splitting the task of developing strategy and directly commanding units on the ground between the two players while deploying abilities will be open to both of them.
Anomaly Warzone Earth will be show at Gamescom at the 11 bit studios. If you can't make it, just check out this video:
